Kevin Kraus made his debut as “Gaston” in Disney’s production of Beauty and the Beast at the Metronom Theater in Oberhausen, Germany. Since his opening in October of 2005, he has impressed audiences in his role as the handsome, popular, Gaston. A role which has showcased him as both an actor and a singer with a rich baritone voice. This role quickly earned him a following among the audiences that attend the show. As Gaston, Kevin portrays a character who in the play is the village’s most eligible bachelor, although a man who is a conceited egomaniac and lacks any respect for women. A portrayal which is far different from the actor who radiates kindness and an honest interest in people. Kevin is a man who is multi dimensional, he speaks English fluently, has diverse and passionate interests in not only acting and singing, but in the business arena and sports, where he loves to play football, softball, beach volleyball, water skiing and motorcycle riding.

Kevin is the only child of Susanne and Wolfgang and was born in West Berlin, Germany. As a child he showed a never ending enthusiasm for interpreting songs and adding vocal ranges to the arrangements that he listened to and mimicked. Also at a young age he learned the xylophone, the first of several instruments he plays. Kevin developed athlete skills in several sports and gained recognition for his athleticism at school. It was during this time that he realized he wanted to become a professional actor and singer. For him it was a means to slip into somebody else’s skin and an outlet to emotionally express himself. While working to pay for his first singing lessons, he began to observe people on an in depth level. Through these observations he recognized that individuals are not only unique, but possess multi layered personalities. By understanding and recognizing the traits and complexities that comprise our personalities, Kevin realized that he could portray people more realistically.

His first real break was when a German music label was scouting talent for the European Grand Prix Song Contest and discovered Kevin. Singers representing various European countries competed against each other before a 7,000 member audience and millions of television viewers. Although Kevin went on to become a semi-finalist for his homeland Germany, he did not advance to the final rounds. Undeterred, he began classical voice training and became a member of “Musical Express”, a musical group which put on productions at community theatres. At this time Kevin began dual careers. Co-mingling acting with business. He helped to establish Backstage Events, an event planning company. He later left this company to form a partnership and opened Mal Sehn, a coffee/cocktail club in Berlin Tegel. Mal Sehn quickly became fashionable and retains its’ popularity today. Its website can be viewed at the following address: www.mal-sehn.com

To pursue a professional career in acting he joined “INAC”, an acting school in Berlin, Germany. This led to a connection with Volker Delf Löschner and Kathrin Klein who opened Du@tt mit Herz, a production that gave Kevin additional international exposure when Du@tt mit Herz finished its run in Berlin clubs and traveled to Marmaris, Turkey. In order to broaden his talents in the various mediums of acting, he applied and was accepted for studies in acting and singing at the prestigious and internationally renowned Lee Strasberg Theater Institute in the United States. Upon completion of a year of studies abroad, he returned to Germany where he was cast in Beauty and the Beast. He portrayed  GASTON at Metronom Theater in Oberhausen and at Theater am Potsdamer Platz in Berlin. Kevin played supporting roles in the TV Series „Soko Wismar“, in KI.KA Krimi.de „Filmriss“ and was able to use his stage combat skills as the modern gladiator in Galileo Mystery.

Doing voice-over-work for german television, he also lent his voice to Wade from „Noah’s Arch“ .

At the time Kevin plays the silverback KERCHAK  from Disneys Musical TARZAN  at Theater Neue Flora in Hamburg,Germany.
